Map the path
Look at how an enquiry, document or decision moves through the business today. Identify the people involved, the information they need and the points where work waits. A short conversation about the whole path often changes the brief: the visible repetitive task may be a symptom of a missing connection upstream.
Choose a bounded first step
A connected-system view does not require a large first release. Pick a narrow workflow with an owner, a clear input and a useful output. Define what the system can do, when it must ask for help and how someone can correct it. That creates a scope which can be reviewed rather than an open-ended promise.
Learn before expanding
Review the first release in use. Look at incomplete handoffs, misunderstood inputs and the effort required to maintain the information behind it. Expand when there is evidence that the next connection will help. We aim to make each stage useful on its own while keeping the wider operating picture in view.
